Preparation
- Slice the flank steak thinly against the grain for tenderness. Mince the garlic and fresh ginger.
- In a large skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.
- Add the sliced flank steak in batches to the hot skillet. Cook for approximately 2 minutes until browned, then remove to a plate.
- Lower the heat, sauté minced garlic and ginger for about 1 minute until fragrant. Mix soy sauce, brown sugar, and red pepper flakes in a bowl, then pour into the skillet.
- Return seared beef to the skillet, mixing well with the sauce. Cook for an additional 2 minutes until heated through and coated.
- Serve over cooked rice or noodles, drizzling extra sauce on top and adding chopped green onions.
Notes
Garnish with sesame seeds for extra crunch. Consider marinating the flank steak for extra flavor.
