Preparation
- Rinse 1 cup of rice under cold water until it runs clear. Combine it with 2 cups of water in a saucepan, bring to a boil, then cover and simmer for about 15 minutes until fluffy.
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown 1 pound of ground beef until no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if needed. Add minced garlic and ginger, cooking for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Stir in soy sauce, sesame oil, and chopped green onions. Season with salt and pepper to taste, then let it simmer for a couple of minutes to meld the flavors.
- Spoon the fluffy cooked rice into bowls, then generously top with the seasoned ground beef mixture. Arrange any optional vegetables around the beef.
- Finish by garnishing with sesame seeds and extra chopped green onions, along with your choice of toppings.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days; freeze portions for up to 2 months. Reheat as needed.
