Cooking Instructions
- Sprinkle salt and pepper generously over the round steak. In a hot skillet with a splash of oil, sear the steak for about 3 minutes on each side until beautifully browned. Remove it from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add sliced onions and minced garlic, stirring gently for about 5 minutes until they soften and become translucent.
- Pour in the low-sodium beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, scraping up the flavorful bits stuck to the bottom. Let simmer for 2-3 minutes.
- Mix cornstarch with a bit of water to create a slurry, then stir it into the simmering gravy. Allow it to cook for about 2 minutes until thickened.
- Place the seared steak back into the skillet, spooning the gravy over it. Cover and simmer on low for 10 minutes.
- Plate your steak, drizzling it generously with the gravy. Serve hot with creamy mashed potatoes or roasted veggies.
Notes
Consider garnishing with fresh herbs like parsley for added flavor and color.
