  • 1 cup Sliced Pork Pork belly or shoulder preferred
  • 1 cup Fish Cake (Narutomaki) Check Asian markets for fresh options
  • 1 cup Shiitake Mushrooms Fresh or dried
  • 1 bunch Green Onions Chopped finely
  • 2 units Hard-Boiled Eggs Cook to preferred firmness
For Optional Add-ins
  • 1 cup Extra Vegetables Carrots, bok choy, or spinach
  • 8 ounces Gluten-Free Rice Noodles Substitute for traditional noodles

Method
 

How to Make Ultimate Saimin
  1. In a large pot, combine chicken broth and water. Bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat for about 10 minutes.
  2. Boil Saimin noodles according to the package instructions for around 3-5 minutes, until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. Stir in sliced pork and shiitake mushrooms into the simmering broth. Cook for an additional 5-7 minutes until pork is tender.
  4. Place a portion of cooked noodles in a bowl. Pour the broth over the noodles, topping with fish cake slices and green onions.
  5. Add sliced hard-boiled eggs atop each bowl and sprinkle with extra green onions.
  6. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

For an extra burst of flavor, drizzle sesame oil on top. Store leftovers in the fridge or freezer as needed.
