- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add your pasta and cook until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Drain and reserve some pasta water.
- In a skillet over medium heat, combine olive oil and minced garlic. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Pour in the heavy cream and lower the heat. Let simmer for 3-5 minutes until it thickens slightly.
- Stir in lemon juice, zest, and season with salt and pepper. Mix well.
- Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss until well coated. Add reserved pasta water if needed.
- Fold in chopped basil and grated Parmesan cheese until melted and blended.
- Plate the pasta and garnish with additional Parmesan and basil if desired.
Notes
For a lighter dish, substitute heavy cream with cashew cream or coconut milk. Customize with proteins like grilled chicken or shrimp.
