Directions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare an 8-inch square baking pan by greasing it or lining it with parchment paper.
  2. Melt the butter over low heat in a medium saucepan until smooth, then let cool slightly.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooled melted butter, sugar, eggs, lemon juice, and lemon zest. Whisk until smooth.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour and baking powder. Gradually fold the dry mixture into the wet ingredients.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
