How to Make Irresistible Flavorful Yakitori
- Start by cutting the boneless skinless chicken thighs into bite-sized pieces. Chop the green onions into similar lengths.
- In a bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, sake, mirin, and brown sugar until fully combined.
- Mix the chicken pieces with the marinade in a resealable bag or bowl. Allow them to marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
- Take soaked wooden skewers and alternate threading the marinated chicken and green onion pieces.
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Grill the yakitori skewers for about 3-4 minutes per side until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
- During the last moments of grilling, brush the skewers with any leftover marinade for added glaze.
