How to Make Irresistible Flavorful Yakitori
  1. Start by cutting the boneless skinless chicken thighs into bite-sized pieces. Chop the green onions into similar lengths.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, sake, mirin, and brown sugar until fully combined.
  3. Mix the chicken pieces with the marinade in a resealable bag or bowl. Allow them to marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  4. Take soaked wooden skewers and alternate threading the marinated chicken and green onion pieces.
  5. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Grill the yakitori skewers for about 3-4 minutes per side until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
  6. During the last moments of grilling, brush the skewers with any leftover marinade for added glaze.
