How to Make Irresistible Flavorful Ghost Taco Hand Pies
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour and salt. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs, then gradually add ice water until the dough comes together. Chill for 30 minutes.
- In a skillet, brown the ground beef or turkey over medium heat. Once cooked, drain any excess fat and stir in the taco seasoning, allowing it to cool slightly.
- On a well-floured surface, roll out the chilled dough to about 1/8-inch thick. Use a round cutter or a glass to cut out 4-inch circles.
- Spoon the taco meat mixture and a sprinkle of cheese onto one half of each dough circle. Fold the other half over and firmly press the edges together using a fork to create a seal.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the hand pies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, brush the tops with egg wash, and bake for 20-25 minutes until they turn a lovely golden brown.
- Let the hand pies cool slightly on a wire rack before serving. They pair wonderfully with salsa, guacamole, or a dollop of sour cream.
Notes
