  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line your baking sheets with parchment paper to prevent sticking and for easy cleanup.
  2. Whisk together the dry ingredients. In a medium bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, ground nutmeg, and cinnamon.
  3. Cream the butter and sugars. In a large bowl, beat the softened unsalted butter with the granulated and brown sugars until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes.
  4. Incorporate eggs and vanilla. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Fold in dry ingredients. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  6. Drop onto baking sheets. Use a cookie scoop or spoon to drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared sheets, placing them about 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown but the centers remain soft.
  8. Cool completely. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to wire racks.
