Equipment

  • Oven
  • Mixing bowl
  • Baking sheet
  • Wire Rack
  • Lollipop Sticks

Method

Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare a greased pan, mix your cake according to the package instructions, pour it into the pan, and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  2. Once baked, allow the cake to cool in the pan for 1 hour. Afterward, gently transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
  3. Once your cake is cool, crumble it into fine pieces in a large bowl.
  4. Pour in 1 cup of frosting to the cake crumbs and mix until evenly combined, ensuring it is moldable and sticky.
  5. Take the mixture and roll it into 1-inch balls. Place them onto a lined baking sheet and refrigerate for 1 hour to firm up.
  6. Melt your dipping chocolate. Dip one end of each lollipop stick into the chocolate, then insert it halfway into each cake ball. Dip the entire cake ball into the melted chocolate and decorate with your choice of toppings before letting them set on the lined sheet.

Notes

For best results, ensure the cake is completely cooled before crumbling and refrigerate the cake balls before dipping for shape retention.
