How to Make
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, 3 large eggs, ½ cup vegetable oil, and about 1 cup water. Mix until smooth and well incorporated, about 2-3 minutes.
- Pour the batter into a greased cake pan and bake for about 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely, which takes about 30 minutes.
- Crumble the cooled cake into fine crumbs in a large bowl., ensuring a smooth consistency.
- Add ½ cup of chocolate frosting to the crumbs and mix until sticky but not overly wet.
- Shape the mixture into 1-inch balls and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Chill the cake balls in the refrigerator for about 15-20 minutes.
- Melt your chocolate coating or candy melts according to package instructions until smooth.
- Dip a lollipop stick into the melted chocolate and then insert it into each cake ball. Coat each ball in the melted chocolate and place them back on parchment.
