Preparation
- Slice the beef sirloin against the grain into thin strips for tenderness.
- Heat a splash of oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the beef strips and cook for about 3 minutes until browned.
- Remove the beef from the skillet and add the chopped onions and mushrooms. Sauté for about 5 minutes until onions are translucent.
- Stir in the minced garlic and flour, mixing for about 2 minutes. Gradually whisk in the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, stirring until sauce thickens.
- Return the sautéed beef along with its juices to the skillet. Allow it to simmer for about 5 minutes.
- Remove from heat and stir in the sour cream until creamy and smooth; serve over egg noodles, rice, or mashed potatoes.
