  • Three round cake pans

Method

How to Make Decadent Rich Neapolitan Cake
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease three round cake pans and line the bottoms with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together softened unsalted butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, milk, and vanilla extract, and mix until combined.
  3. Divide the batter into three bowls. Mix cocoa powder in one for the chocolate layer, strawberry puree in another for the fruity layer, and leave the last bowl plain for vanilla.
  4. Pour each batter into the prepared pans. Bake for 25-30 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  5. Allow layers to cool in the pans for about 10 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
  6. Start with the chocolate layer as the base. Spread frosting between each layer, finishing with the vanilla layer.
  7. Cover the cake in frosting and decorate as desired. Optionally drizzle with chocolate or strawberry sauce before serving.

Notes

Ensure butter is at room temperature for a light texture. Do not overmix after adding dry ingredients.
