Baking Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease three round cake pans and align with parchment paper.
- Cream together the unsalted butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-5 minutes. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well, then stir in vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and cocoa powder. Gradually mix this into the wet ingredients, alternating with milk.
- Divide the batter into three bowls, keeping one vanilla, whisk cocoa into another for chocolate, and stir strawberry jam into the last.
- Pour each batter into its pan and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cakes cool in pans for 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
- Assemble by layering cooled cakes with frosting between layers and on the outside.
- Garnish with fresh strawberries or sprinkles, if desired.
Notes
Use room temperature butter for smoother batter. Let layers cool completely before frosting.
