How to Make Hearty Italian Sausage Soup
- In a large pot over medium heat, add your Italian sausage and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon for about 5-7 minutes.
- Mix in the diced onions, garlic, carrots, and celery. Stir them occasionally until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Pour in the chicken broth along with the diced tomatoes (with juice). Stir the mixture well and bring it to a gentle simmer.
- Sprinkle in the Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper to taste. Allow the soup to simmer on low heat for about 20 minutes.
- Just before serving, stir in the fresh spinach until it's wilted, about 1-2 minutes.
- Ladle the warm soup into bowls and enjoy it hot, optionally pairing it with crusty bread or a sprinkle of parmesan cheese.
