Ingredients
  

For the Stir Fry
  • 1 lb beef (flank steak, sirloin, or ribeye) thinly sliced against the grain
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce can be substituted with tamari for gluten-free
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce for complexity and sweetness
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil for nutty flavor
  • 1 tablespoon honey balances savory notes
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger grated
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil for stir-frying
For the Vegetables
  • 1 bell pepper thinly sliced
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 1 carrot julienned
  • 1/2 cup snap peas ends trimmed
  • 2 green onions chopped for garnish
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds optional for garnish
For Serving
  • steamed rice optional

Method
 

Steps to Prepare
  1. Slice your 1 lb of beef thinly against the grain. Marinate it in soy sauce, garlic, and ginger for 15-30 minutes.
  2. In a bowl, combine 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of hoisin sauce, 1 tablespoon of sesame oil, 1 tablespoon of honey, garlic, and ginger. Mix well and set aside.
  3. Heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a wok over medium-high heat. Sear the marinated beef for 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove and set aside.
  4. In the same pan, stir-fry 1 julienned carrot, 1 thinly sliced bell pepper, and 1 cup of broccoli florets for 3-5 minutes.
  5. Add ½ cup of snap peas and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  6. Return the cooked beef to the pan, pour in your sauce, and stir to coat everything. Cook for 1-2 minutes.
  7. Garnish with chopped green onions and optional sesame seeds. Serve over steamed rice if desired.

Adjust seasonings as needed and enjoy customization with beef, chicken, or tofu.
