For the Glaze
  • 1 cup Powdered Sugar Can be omitted if preferred.
  • 2 tablespoons Orange Juice

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Rolling Pin
  • Baking Pan
  • Oven

Method

Making the Rolls
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and active dry yeast. Let it sit until frothy for about 5 minutes.
  2. Add in the melted butter, eggs, salt, orange zest, and half the all-purpose flour. Mix until combined, then gradually add the remaining flour until the dough comes together.
  3. On a floured surface, knead the dough for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  5. Roll out the dough into a rectangle. Spread melted butter over it, then sprinkle with fresh cranberries and a bit of sugar. Roll it up tightly and slice into individual rolls.
  6. Place the rolls in a greased baking pan, cover, and allow to rise for an additional 30 minutes. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C), then bake for about 25 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Mix the powdered sugar with orange juice to make a smooth glaze. Drizzle generously over the rolls and serve warm.

Notes

Top with additional orange zest for an extra zing. Serve with coffee for an elevated breakfast experience.
