Making the Rolls
- In a large mixing bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and active dry yeast. Let it sit until frothy for about 5 minutes.
- Add in the melted butter, eggs, salt, orange zest, and half the all-purpose flour. Mix until combined, then gradually add the remaining flour until the dough comes together.
- On a floured surface, knead the dough for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle. Spread melted butter over it, then sprinkle with fresh cranberries and a bit of sugar. Roll it up tightly and slice into individual rolls.
- Place the rolls in a greased baking pan, cover, and allow to rise for an additional 30 minutes. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C), then bake for about 25 minutes until golden brown.
- Mix the powdered sugar with orange juice to make a smooth glaze. Drizzle generously over the rolls and serve warm.
Notes
Top with additional orange zest for an extra zing. Serve with coffee for an elevated breakfast experience.
