Preparation Steps
- Marinate 3-4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts in buttermilk for at least one hour or overnight.
- In a large bowl, combine all-purpose flour, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
- Remove the chicken from the buttermilk and coat each piece in the seasoned flour.
- Pour about two inches of cooking oil into a deep skillet and heat it to 350°F (175°C).
- Carefully place the coated chicken breasts into the hot oil and fry for 6-7 minutes on each side.
- Transfer the fried chicken to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil and serve hot.
Notes
For best results, let coated chicken rest for 10-15 minutes before frying. Ensure oil is at the right temperature for crispiness.
